Fractional Kruggerands Available From APMEX

http://www.apmex.com/Category/1/Sout...ugerrands.aspx

I know Kruggerands come in smaller than 1-ounce denominations but this is the first time I've noticed them at APMEX.

Is the premium for smaller coins versus ounces worth it if one is planning to buy and hold as opposed to trying to play the market?

Bought some 1/10 oz. krugs in May at Apmex.

I like fractional gold.

I think it's a good idea to hold fractional gold in spite of the higher premiums for the purposes of liquidity...

Thanks for the replies.

Given that this is really the first time I've seen fractional Krugerrands so easily available and since there seems to be a drop happening I'm sore tempted to scoop some of these up.

$100.70 each right now...

Why not buy fractional US gold?

It typically costs more. Right now a 1/10th ounce GAE is $1.83 more than a 1/10th ounce krug. That's 0.1990% more for the same amount of gold. For me I'm looking at the lowest price.

To ME thats like driving across town to fill up your gas tank cause gas is .03 cheaper, or waiting in line behind 5 cars at one station when right across the street for a couple cents more there is no line. IMHO, Mark

APMEX typically has all the fractional Krugs (1/2, 1/4, 1/10) about once every couple of weeks but they tend to sell out very, very quickly. I scoop them up if available when I make a regular purchase but if not the GAE's are always available.

There is no time difference or convenience factor over buying Krugerrands versus Eagles, so I don't get your analogy.

Do you mean that it will be easier to sell the Eagles or that they will sell for a higher premium than the Krugerrands? If so, then I'm hoping that, by the time I need to sell, this slight difference today will be vastly less in the future given the overall increase in price.

If not then I missunderstand :confused_ma:

As I said it is just my opinion. But I think the eagles would sell better than the Krugs. Sorry my analogy doesn't make sense to ME either now- half hour ago it sounded good.
Considering though if your buying fractionals for easier liquidity when price goes to da moon the eagles may show easier liquidity as well.
Didn't mean to deride ya just adding my .02. HH Mark

Buying lots of different coins makes the stacking more fun and interesting. And the fractional Krugs are uncommon.

I actually get 1.817% more...but yes, you bring up a valid point.

Well so much for this idea :(

Car is in the shop for a couple of days. Engine started stalling out on me last night on the way home from work. And I'm taking the opportunity to have the transmission looked at, it's been having problems with reverse for a while and since the car is already at the shop for one I'm going to get the other fixed at the same time.

Hopefully it won't be a huge bill but until I get it back and paid for I need to hold onto my cash. That and the wife wouldn't take kindly to me buying right now anyway.

So everyone can rest assured that the price will increase since I am out of the market for now. :smokin:

You're welcome :sarcasm:
